  • Today we stood in solidarity with millions across the planet for the #globalclimatestrike 👊🏽🌎💔 Standing on the International Border of Canada and the United States, where wildlife cross freely, the trees and seeds don't distinguish between an arbitrary line in the sand, and the watershed and wind and cycles and seasons are one, not divided. You see, the current Climate Crisis we are experiencing knows no borders either. As the storms and fires and sea levels rise and increase in intensity, everywhere and everyone is feeling the impact. As Glaciers disappear and the Amazon burns, habitats are changing, landscapes are being forever altered, and the future is uncertain. The future for these sweet kiddos is uncertain. Read that again. This isn’t new news. We’ve known this for decades, scientists have been sounding the alarm on the impending damage, indigenous communities have had to defend their lands and water and sacred rights, and villages under water or up in flames are living it right now. So glad the rest of the planet is waking up, so very proud of our global youth for leading the way, we ALL need to do this together and put massive pressure on the governments and corporations responsible, as well as make our own changes everyday. Stop buying from companies making throwaway products, boycott single-use plastic, use renewable energy and alternative fuels, support organic and local farmers and businesses, vote with your forks and dollars and take a stand 👊🏽 Because what you buy here that was made in a factory across the world by underpaid workers using tons of fossil fuels to produce and package and ship, does impact the here and now for you and them and everyone. Our planet is ALL ONE, and our Climate Crisis is, too. Let’s make a difference collectively, all of us, across the world, for our kids for our future!!! 🌎🙌🏽 {Climate Crisis tee now available in our shop!! *link in bio} #climatestrike #internationalclimatestrike #climatechangeishappening #climatecrisis #climateemergency #takeclimateactionNOW #fridaysforfuture #climatecrisisknowsnoborders #standup #speakout #votewithyourdollar #bethechange #ecowombfam #familyofactivists #forourkidsforourfuture Today we stood in solidarity with millions across the planet for the #globalclimatestrike 👊🏽🌎💔 Standing on the International Border of Canada and the United States, where wildlife cross freely, the trees and seeds don't distinguish between an arbitrary line in the sand, and the watershed and wind and cycles and seasons are one, not divided. • Here's the thing about #climatestrike: Climate change is real AF. And it has already happened. This isn't a hippie thing. It isn't a conspiracy theory.
In our own backyards, towns are succumbing. Salton Sea in CA, once a mecca for luxury, has become so toxic the beautiful homes were abandoned and you're now warned to not get a single drop on your skin. Palm Springs area, with all it's glory, probably won't be habitable in 5 years. In parts of California, stealing water has become a common crime because resources are drying up. Along the Mendocino coast, HWY 1 is hanging on by a thread as it crumbles into the ocean. In Montana Aspen trees are dying by the second. Nevada is nearly a wasteland. LA is devoting serious resources to transportation for a different environment.
As a gypsy-soul who travels a lot, I have personally watched a massive change over the last 5-10 years, places closing, populations suffering.
Reality is, it isn't "changing". It has changed. And it is crucial that we stop pretending it isn't cool to care, or that its dorky to use your voice.

It is badass to not only care, but to also understand it on a bigger level. It shows you are a global thinker. It also shows you give a damn about something bigger than yourself.
Whatever your hustle is, whatever you are working on, think about how you can make it more resourceful. Make it worthy of people, place, planet, partnerships and profit.
It f'n matters.

xo, mpp

  • ⁣“Organic produce is too expensive”⁣⁣⁣⁣
“Why would I buy an apple that costs more when they’re both apples?!”⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
“Those oils are way too expensive”⁣⁣⁣⁣
“Why would I buy a $25 bottle of lavender when I could spend $5?!”⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Those were some of the exact thoughts rumbling through my mind a few years ago. And now I’m singing a different tune 🎶 Why, you ask? Because #knowbetterdobetter⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
I’ve talked a lot about the importance of buying organic produce but today I want to chat about oil sourcing and quality. 💦 ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Let’s explore why with a few simple math problems 📊. Stick with me...I’ll do all the work and break it all down for you. 😊⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Math time ✏️ ⁣⁣⁣⁣
Farm A: On this farm it costs about $12000 to manually weed one acre of lavender each season. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Farm B: On this farm it costs about $60 to spray {toxic} herbicides to weed one acre of lavender each season. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
1️⃣How much more does it cost to weed the Farm A vs Farm B?⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Answer: ⁣⁣⁣⁣
$12000 divided by $60 = 200 ⁣⁣⁣⁣
It costs 200 times more to manually weed Farm A. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣Assuming all other costs were the same, if a 15mL bottle of lavender from the Farm A costs $25 how much would a 15mL bottle of lavender from Farm B cost? ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Answer:⁣⁣⁣⁣
$25/200=.125 cents. A 15mL bottle of lavender from Farm B should cost .125 cents 🤔 ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
What does this tell us? Here are some thoughts to consider. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
👉🏻Despite what you and I might have believed before Farm A oil is marked up wayyyyyy *less* than Farm B ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
👉🏻Synthetic lavender oil (which is very common and can legally be labeled 100% pure 🙄) should theoretically cost even less than 13cents ⁣⁣
👉🏻This example doesn’t even take into consideration other cost cutting practices many oil companies use (cutting oil with fillers like coconut oil, distilling oil using solvents, not rotating crops or letting land rest, etc ). 👉🏻 We vote with our dollars. I would much rather support healthy farming practices and farms that pay their workers *livable* wages. We don’t need anymore toxic chemicals sprayed on our Earth. We don’t need more disease and cancer. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
