We got robbed, and we’re sorry!
Around three weeks ago we parked our car at a lovely beach in a nature park just south of Valencia. It was a stunning place with a few friendly fellow overlanders and travelers. After a swim in the ocean and a great meal we went to sleep, both on top of the car even though it was a public place, it felt like a good and safe place. One would say it was almost to beautiful to be true, and one would be right. The next morning when we woke up to see the beautiful sunrise above the ocean we found our car trashed. Someone had been through our stuff and stole almost half of what we had. Q’s MacBook was stolen with all our editing software, photo’s and routs planned on it, along with all our cash and backpack. AJ’s MacBook was still there but is broken down due to software problems which started the night before.
We where left with the an empty and powerless feeing with our minds filled with questions and anger.
The rest of the day we spent at the police station to file a report of the robbery and with the hope they may find our stuff. After this big set down we moved on with our journey with a feeling that we lost everything. In just one night our whole journey had changed, we expected to get robbed at least once during the journey but not this early in the beginning of our adventure.
We are sorry because the past weeks we haven’t been able to upload any quality pictures or share our stories. We are currently in Morocco on our way from Ouarzazate to Marrakesh and recently bought a new device on which we can edit our photos. Starting today we will share the stories of the past weeks and the once that still have to be written!
