After a week in one of the most beautiful places in Italy it’s time to start packing up our things ready for the flight home tomorrow. It’s been one of the best weeks of my life and I’m truly sad to be leaving. We’ve made so many new friends from around the world, been to the most beautiful wedding and stumbled across the most bizarre but fantastic street party/rave. If any of you can’t decide where to go on holiday this year then I’d highly recommend Castellina in Chianti! Totally amazing and stunning ☀️🌲 #castellinainchianti#holiday#wedding#streetparty#streetrave#italy#stunning#beautiful#tuscany#tuscanyitaly#wine#winecountry
Auckland is the founding region of New Zealand’s wine industry and features more than 50 vineyards across a range of locations from West Auckland to the beautiful Waiheke Island.
Several established wine trails and many guided tours exist, and regional food and wine festivals are a permanent fixture on New Zealand's event calendar.
Drinking varieties of wine 🍷 can be complicated or even intimidating. There are hundreds of grape 🍇 varieties, various harvesting techniques, different soils, numerous ageing timelines and countless other variances that can differ the wine making process of fusing the art and science of wine making.
I love @garyvee‘s view on wine...

If you want an outdoor experience with modern conveniences, we found it in Romulus NY. They have four yurts available but book early. Kathy, the innkeeper, was very friendly. They have no AC yet but I think AC would ruin the natural feeling of the experience. You also have access to dock and boathouse. #yurtliving#glampingnotcamping#naturelover#winecountry#relaxing

I spend a good 15 minutes on the nose before taking a sip. It’s as perplexing as it is seductive and perfumed. Whereas wines I love are always very perfumed, it’s usually only of a few very well defined elements.
In my first glass, the nose on this wine is like nothing I’ve experienced before in its overwhelming volume and dizzying array of fragrances. It becomes difficult to pick these elements apart as the sheer number begins to distort and blend together. Each time I return my nose to the glass the impression is similar, but the element most prominent is completely different from the last. The nose feels monolithic in its impact and yet entirely fluid in how it continually shifts and flows, hitting different notes every 15 seconds. One moment an herbal edge appears, then becoming dried orange peel, then crushed strawberry, then nutmeg, then rose petal, it goes on and on. The effect is somewhat trance-like as I spend a good 30 minutes just smelling the wine and trying to pin down the subtle shifts in the perfume.
The impact on the palate is just as perplexing as the nose. The wine feels inordinately light, but with the palpable texture of dry extract on the mid palate. One can almost can make the mistake of thinking, 'ok this isn’t so different.’ Though once it’s left the palate is where the wine truly shines. Much like Bonnes Mares i've had from Roumier, there is a sensation of pressure and imprint on the palate. What's different is that this pressure somehow shimmers, continuing to ripple along the length of the tongue, long past the flavors have faded away. I’m not sure if this is from dry extract or is a product of terroir. The effect is one of vibrant energy, weightless density, effortless intensity.
I am extremely grateful to @burgundylover58 for sharing this incredible bottle, and to have tasted it with such thoughtful friends. I’ve had l a few wines that have stirred and elicited great emotion. This wine is perhaps a new benchmark in that realm. Few wines I’ve tasted have shown this combination of hedonism and sensuality, but none have so fiercely demanded my attention, challenging me, so adamantly intellectual at its core.
✅ Checked off another Bucket List activity today! We officially climbed Enchanted Rock this morning! Gave me all the reassurance, that basically I’m just out of shape!! 🤪 ⠀
Now on to lunch and a wine tour!! 🍷 🙌🏻
