Who doesn't want to be like Sam? Becoming so great that you keep breaking your own records. With 2 goals against @washingtonspirit , the @chicagoredstars and Australian forward, @samanthakerr20 reached the landmark 18 goals for the 2019 NWSL season. That record ensured the 26-year-old eclipsed her former 2017 tally of 17 to remain the record single campaign scorer in the history of the competition. The all-time leading scorer in the NWSL with 77 goals to her name also has one more opportunity to extend the record before the Red Stars appear in the 2019 play-offs. She is currently an astonishing 7 goals ahead of second best scorer, Courage's Lynn Williams.
India Wins ICC Twenty20 World Cup
Event: 24 Sep 2007 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
(South Africa) In a High-Voltage final, India defeated Pakistan by 5 runs to lift the ICC Twenty-20 World Cup Trophy and send the country into frenzy. Sreesanth will always be remembered for that last catch in no-man’s land, and this victory was the beginning of the Dhoni era
14 Sep: India (141-9) defeated Pakistan (141-7), after the first ever World Twenty20 bowl-out, when Pakistan's Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi were unable to strike the un-guarded 3-stumps.
19 Sep: Playing against England, Yuvraj Singh smashed Stuart Broad for six 6s, to score the fastest 50 off just 12 balls.
India defeated Australia by 15 runs - after Yuvraj Singh smashed a 20-ball-50, which included the longest six of the tournament (119 meters). FINAL
MS Dhoni won the toss for India and elected to bat.
India finished with 157-5, after Gautam Gambir (75 runs off 54 balls) played an extraordinary anchor role until the 18 over, although wickets kept falling at regular intervals:
Pakistan lost opener Mohammad Hafeez in the 1st over - caught Robin Uthappa at slip, off RP Singh. And Kamran Akmal was clean bowled (0 runs off 8 balls), when RP Singh came back in the 3rd over. Yet Pakistan reached the 50 runs mark in 5.3 overs, compared to India's 7.4 overs.
Pakistan was 141/9, and needed 17 runs to win in 7 balls, with one wicket in hand - leaving Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Asif in the middle
Then an inexperienced Joginder Sharma was handed the ball for the final over - Dhoni style. The first ball was a wide, and the next was hit for a six by Haq.
Now, Pakistan was 150 runs in 19.2 overs (same as India), when Haq tried to scoop Joginder over short fine leg for a 6 or 4, but Sreesanth ran backwards to take a stunning catch, and Haq slumped on to his haunches at the bowler's end.
INDIA HAD WON BY 5 RUNS.
FOR INDIA, THIS WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE DHONI ERA
