Reason number two: all of our details were us. It was hard to find the “men’s flannel wedding attire” look on Pinterest and my grandma altered the dress she made for my mom-you don’t get me that at David’s bridal. And every detail from my mother-in-law made bouquet flowers to the flower I made for Nate’s boutonnière couldn’t be replicated if you tried, because you aren’t us. @mcconvillestudio@starvedrocklodge
DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!!!
This is me at my first Return of the Curls Hair Show.
Honestly I had no idea what I was doing, but God was sooo amazing.
As I look back at this photo it brings me to tears to know that I built the show with very little money, but with a lot of courage, faith and people willingly sacrificing their time to make it happen.
But this also is the exact expression I felt like night.
After hearing God invite me to move to California dreams began to stir inside of me.
Dreams I haven’t thought about in YEARS
I’ve always wanted to be on television.
I was a double major in college: Business and Acting.
After landing my first major role in acting, I just quit.
No clue why, but I did.
20 YEARS LATER I got the opportunity last night to be an extra.
Now you may say JUST AN EXTRA.... but to someone that thought this dream was dead for 20 years, you would’ve thought I won an Oscar by the way I felt last night on set.
I didn’t need to be seen or heard, I just knew that God was saying...
Keenya, I never make a promise that I don’t keep. You can trust me!
Ask God about the promises he has for your life.
Choose to walk in the direction of your dreams even though you may feel afraid, unbelief, unworthy or whatever.
God always keeps his promises we just need to obey him when he says move, invites you on a journey or extends an opportunity that you may FEEL unqualified for.
THANK YOU JESUS .
Our past few days in Paris have been as delightfully pleasant as munching on a buttery croissant on a lazy, sunny morning.
Even though the city has been haunted by rain showers (we must have brought it with us from the Bavarian Alps), we’ve enjoyed taking Paris by foot whenever the weather did smile with fortune.
And when it did rain, I’ve been lucky that @itslilywu has been taking it in stride and willing to plop down in a cafe or coworking space to read and write (or draw for her). Traveling is never totally within your control, but that’s part of the fun!
Helicopters. Dancers. Buffets. Oh my!
This trip was one for the books, ya’ll. Forever grateful I got to share it with the best. Where to next, V?

Salzburg is a cozy small town near the Austrian Alps known for being the childhood home of Mozart and backdrop for Sound of Music.
To be honest, my impression as a traveler was that unless you’re a massive fan of Sound of Music, you can probably move on after a brief, one-day visit.
The town streets were jam-packed with throngs of visitors. Prices were expensive, especially for accommodations.
With that said, one feature of the town I enjoyed was its weekly summer outdoor theater shows in the center of Mozartplaz. The relaxing, entertaining vibe reminded me a bit of the Shakespeare in the Park performances in Golden Gate Park.
This has been the best birthday ever! My heart is happy. I am beyond blessed to be surrounded by both sane and a few “insane”people in my life. Lol. I thank God for all the people that he has allowed me to be surrounded with! I can not image life with out any one of them.
I thank God for my parents Henry and Vera! Without them there would be no me. Their love and guidance has allowed me to see 40 years. They taught me to pray, to love God, to love others, and always see the best in people. Thank you dive crew, for jumping out of a plane ✈️ with me and sharing that lifelong experience!!!
Thank you family, friends (near and far) for taking time to hang out with me. Thank you to each person that not just sent a HBD message, but a truly heartfelt message. You have no idea how much they touched my heart. “Adventure is out there!”-UP
Hallstatt struck me as a particularly picturesque albeit touristy town on the Austrian side of the Alps.
What was funny though was that after we left the town to hike towards the waterfalls tucked away in the mountainous valley, we saw only a handful of people on the paved trails. I felt conflicted that the harder-to-reach spots in nature weren’t as popular as the lakeside attractions.
Even though I realized I prefer the waterfalls of Southeast Asia and Hawaii, I loved the tranquil vibe of the wooden Bavarian-style cottages we saw on our route. I’d love to come back for a creative retreat.

I’ve been enjoying this summer in the company of alllll the cute dogs! It’s safe to say that I’m a happy girl 😊🐕💕 Bike Shorts: @femmeluxefinery
📍𝘓𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢 | 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘢 🇨🇴: trying to ignore the steadily escalating sense of foreboding as the days rolled by we kept ourselves busy.
Spread across 3 different countries, Santa Rosa (Peru), Leticia (Colombia) & Tabatinga (Brazil) are pretty much the same town, & so we roamed free across each of them (unofficially 🤫)
𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳; Leticia’s central park filled with bizarre sculptures. If you can withstand the potent stench of bird poo, it’s well worth hanging around for sunset when thousands of screeching parakeets arrive for their nightly rest. We hoped the bird poop to Jay’s nugget was a good sign for our border issues 🤞🏼
Who knew The Dab was started by the indigenous Colombian-Amazonions 🤷🏻♂️
𝘊𝘢𝘴𝘢 𝘥𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴 𝘗𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘴 𝘏𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘭; not a bad place to be stuck for a few days playing cards, swimming in the pool & lounging in hammocks! They also served up a killer breakfast & we loved their eco efforts!
𝘉𝘢𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘴 𝘈𝘮𝘢𝘻ó𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘴; catching up with a London couple we met in Iquitos, we enjoyed £1 beers in this themed restaurant!
𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘰 𝘌𝘵𝘯𝘰𝘨𝘳á𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘭𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘱ú𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢; an insightful look into the rich culture of the indigenous population. Admittedly the only fact that will stay with us is the right of passage ceremony for young girls where their hair is torn out whilst they jump over campfires repeatedly #ouchy
Apparently we’re gluttons for punishment because after 2 days of bathroom demo we took a break by going back to Fundy for a hike. Winston joined us and enjoyed most of it. I think when we finally stop we’ll sleep for a week. @the_othermike#yearofadventure#thepupisgettingold
